The Why Pink Fashion Show is a fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Why Pink is a new organization that will use a unique photography angle to raise funds for worthy causes.
Get your photo session scheduled today. The photos are done in black and white except for spot coloring of something pink. Use any prop you like. A pink top. Pink handbag. A flower. It's your photo, your creation, and your way to give to the campaign.

The Why Pink photographers will be on hand at the Haute Market event to take your photo! Pose with a friend or on your own. Bring a prop or use one of ours. We'll have lots of fun items to choose from - a pink feather boa perhaps?

The FAQ on our events

It's no secret that the Haute Market events are the cat's meow, but it's still new to some so we're breaking it down for you here so you know what to expect out of us and our fab events!

Who is behind Haute Market?
One woman started Haute Market in June '06 (that's me). A year ago I brought on a sales rep and over-all fab helper so that Haute could grow and grow. We're two moms, like many of our readers, who need something more than the love and attention of our children to get us through each day.

What is Haute Market?
Haute Market is two-fold.
A fabulous shopping party held several times a year in the KC metro area (and soon expanding to other cities).
It is also an online mini-magazine focused on fashion and beauty, plus covering related events around town and the nation, like local fashion events and major fashion week shows. We want to be your source for quick and up-to-date fashion and beauty information.

What are the shopping events like?
-It is NOT like a craft fair! There is fabulous music by our DJ who also acts as MC to keep the crowd energized and having fun.
-We give away LOTS of prizes.
-The boutiques and designers are hand picked based on their product quality and ability to provide guests with fashion-forward designs.
- the shopping is intense as it's only a 4 hour event. Women get in, grab a drink and get shopping.

Are children allowed?
No. I don't know about you, but I am with my children (3 boys) nearly 24/7. I want to get dressed up, fix my hair and go out with my girlfriends to do something just for me.
Haute Market events are 21 & over so we can have a kid-free environment and sip some grown up drinks.

What else besides shopping?
If you've bothered to get dressed up, fix your hair, put on make up...do you really think we'd let you just shop? No way...besides fab shopping Haute Market has complimentary beauty services: massages, makeup touch up, and more. Each event might have different services offered, but there are always wonderful things going on to make you feel pretty and feminine.

Other perks:
Each event will feature the Grand Makeover - one guest is plucked from the crowd and given a new look!
We have also teamed up with Mix 93.3 and Escape Limousine to bring 8 ladies to the event in style. Complimentary admission, goodie bags and limo ride to and from the event! (Registration starts soon on the Mix web site)

The Vanity Fair Event

The next Haute Market shopping party is..
the Vanity Fair, Wed. April 16th from 5-9 pm at the Ritz Charles.

The Vanity Fair will be a haute shopping party with a twist.
One area dedicated to beauty, pampering and vanity: The Beauty Bar, will surely be a destination for you to visit and indulge in some of your beauty wishes.
Plus some of our favorite designers and boutiques who focus on fashion. Women's apparel, handbags, and loads of handcrafted jewelry designs.

Learn about Botox, Restalyne, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal and more from three of our favorite med spas in Kansas City.
Treat yourself to a make-up or hair touch up, maybe enjoy a massage.
There will also be vendors specializing in beauty and body products. You an purchase make up and body cream developed by women right here in the KC Metro!

Shop with your girlfriends, support local businesses and designers, and allow yourself to fulfill a few of your own beauty wishes at the next Haute Market shopping party!

Fun Sunday

Wow. I am soooo tired today. Yesterday's Haute Market shopping event made for a wild and crazy Sunday afternoon. The Ritz Charles was jam packed with frenzied fashionistas grabbing great deals all around. Most of the designers and boutiques were offering huge discounts...clothing 15-60% off in some booths! Ladies left with gorgeous jewelry, fabulous home decor items and so much more!

Haute Market started it's first, of many, make-over give aways. With the help of Vilma, Xiphium Salon's owner, I picked one lucky guest to receive a full make over and will have photos of her transformation later this week. You'll see her new head-to-toe look which included a completely new outfit!

Thanks to everyone who turned out on a bitter-cold Sunday to shop, be pampered and get hot-Haute-hot!

Party FAQ

We interrupt our regularly scheduled fashion program with this special message...

If you have a question about the Haute Market event, please check out the web site as we've tried to put all info on there. I know that some of my very own friends are too lazy to read the site and call/email me with questions...so I'm going to put some of the top FAQ's here.

Is the event really for 21 and over?
Uh...yeah. That's why it says that all over the site and on the tickets.
The events have several cash bars, hence no kiddo's allowed. Not to mention that this fun day out is so we can get AWAY from the kids...not to pay $10 to hang out with someone else's kids.

What is in the goodie bag?
First of all, the bag itself is awesome and worth the $10. It's our oversized tote bag with long shoulder strap and zipper to keep you goods inside. Great for the gym or the pool.

Not all bags will have the same goodies inside but here are a few of the items you might find:

Full size moisturizer by Dr. Michelle Copeland - $48 value
or Two dental whitener trays (also Dr. Copeland),
Nibblers tingling lip balm from Passion Parties (some bags),
A Haute Market travel mug (some bags),
and I haven't received these yet, but I'm told we're getting a full-sized SkinMilk product and the fabulous Steppies gel pads for your shoes, from Apara - enough for everyone to get one of each!
Also a voucher for a free cup of coffee from It's a Grind in Overland Park. (goodie bag items subject to change without notice)

Will there be food or drinks?
We'll have several cash bars open and a wine station. No food, so pick up something before hand so you have plenty of energy to shop.

What payment methods to the vendors take?
Many take credit/debit cards, but bring cash and checkbook for those who don't.

Are their prize drawings?
YES! We tear off your ticket stub, we'll use it for pulling prize winning numbers. If you bought a goodie bag, you'll get an extra ticket for that, so an extra entry to the drawings! There will be about 15 drawings.

Put on that outfit that's been hanging in the closet that you've been looking for a reason to wear! come prepared to party at Haute Market! We have a fabulous DJ spinning great music and lots of fabulous designers and boutiques - many with clearance items!!
