For the first time since having children, we have secured a babysitter for New Year's Eve.
In years passed we found it easier and less expensive to host a fabulous party in our home with great amounts of food and liquid libations - one year we even enjoyed the performance of a friend who could do an amazing Frank Sinatra impersonation.
During any given NYE either my best friend or I was pregnant and therefore it was pointless to pay loads of dough for all night drinking that we could not enjoy.
Instead we've enjoyed the safety and convenience of partying at home for 9 years.
Oh my goodness...nine years.
The children of our group now outnumber the adults 2 to 1. It's time to end the tradition and start anew. But where? The city has so many fine NYE parties.
My friend Drew, of DREW6, is excited to be playing at Kansas City's famous Hyatt New Year's Eve party. Tickets start at $79 per person.
"The Black Party V" is hosted by Californos in Westport, MO, costs start at $85 per person/ $160 couple.
Pierpont's at Union Station , KC MO. Offering a 4-course prix-fixe menu, ($60).
Seven Downtown KC MO. serving regular menu as well as delectable special, created by Chef Perkins, incl. prime rib, stuffed dover sole, & many other delicious specials.
Trezo Vino Wine Bistro, Leawood, KS. Offer traditional menu as well as a unique 6-course New Year's Eve selection prepared by our Executive Chef, Michael Peterson, ($100/couple).
Yia Yia's Euro Bistro - Overland Park Offering regular menu plus a special 3-course menu. Choose all 3 courses for $39.50 or you can buy each individually.
I'm going to check out Trezo Vino. It's a wine bar, and that's pretty much "our thing". Plus it's close. As much as I'd love to be at the Hyatt...that will have to wait until we have an overnight babysitter so we can enjoy the libations and a cozy hotel room to stumble to at night's end.
Have a safe and happy New Year everyone!

Event info
Ask and you shall receive (sometimes).
I love event feedback (especially from you nice folks, not so much from the cranky ones).
Event updates and new features:
~A few ladies have asked for someplace to unwind a bit. Shopping is hard work and you want a place to chat with the girls, grab a drink, right?
Done. We now have a lounge area!
~You want new vendors? Done. I have about a dozen vendors totally new to Haute Market. Clothing, jewelry and more!
~You want the latest and greatest fashions? Done! Plenty of my fave boutiques are returning with all new summer merchandise!
~Bigger sizes needed? I've asked the boutiques to get some larger sizes my my voluptuous friends.
~AND... because many of you asked so kindly....you can bring your college-aged daughters to shop with you! This event will be 18 & over to help create a great mom-daughter night! ONLY for
this summer event.
Oh, yes...did I mention at least 12 times that DREW6, winner of the MIX 93.3 Battle of the Bands will open at the most awesome summer concert in Kansas City for artists like Jordin Sparks, Lifehouse, Boys Like Girls (just to name a few)? And that the one and only DREW of DREW6 will be performing at the next Haute Market? So for those of you who asked for cute young men to be present at Haute Market....DONE! Plus he's bringing the keyboardist, Steve. Ask and you shall receive, fashionistas.

Sexy Stuff
SJP and crew have hit NYC with force and fab clothes. The fab four are touring the town, promoting the Sex and the City movie, wearing frocks that can turn you green with envy. SJP recently wore a silver gown by Nina Ricci that is so fabulous, I can't stop staring at the photos.
I am so excited for our Sex and the City party at Deegie's Carma tomorrow night. Sips and snacks, goodie bags, shopping discounts AND the movie! A true SATC-ish event.
So let's see how many are actually reading the blog today. I had several squeaky wheels begging, very kindly, for tickets to the party. I just emailed my main man, Dave, at the Legends Theater and snatched up 10 more tickets! Now is your chance. Read the blog regularly and you shall be rewarded. There are 10 tickets added to our online store. Go buy tickets and get into the hottest Sex and the City party in Kansas City!
If you don't get tickets to our party, try joining our friends at http://www.nightofindulgence.com/ for their SATC party in Independence, MO at the Fox & Hound.
